Barbara Black

As a first time mother I loved being close to my baby, and was struggling to find the time to look after my own health, while staying in contact with my baby.  And then i came across Kangatraining, and before I had even been to a class we were flying to Melbourne to complete the Instructors course.

With a love for babywearing; finding an option to bond with my baby and a way to safely nuture my body back into exercise after birth, I feel blessed to be bring Kangatraining to the South West of WA.  Before becoming a mother, I have always lived a very fit and a healthy lifestyle, with a great appreciation of how good it was to look after my body, having a baby was a change of pace and with less time to put my own health first; I love that Kangatraining enhances your physical and emotional wellbeing with the added benifits of babywear at the same time.

My Classes:

TUESDAY 11am, 8 week course Term 3, Dunsborugh Dance Co, 1/9 Congressional Drive, Dunsborough.

FRIDAY 9am, 8 week course Term 4, Vasse Hall, 8 Kaloorup Road, Vasse.

*Older siblings are most welcome to watch / play during sessions

What to Bring:

  • Towel
  • Yoga mat (if you have one)
  • Water
  • Nappy bag and baby essentials
  • Baby carrier if you have one suitable for Kanga (contact me to discuss)

What to Wear:

  • Comfortable light weight workout clothes.
  • At Kanga we train barefoot, but you are welcome to wear trainers if you need instep support.

* It can get quite hot and sweaty during Kanga (especially during the summer months), so it's always a good idea to dress both of you in layers. Leg warmers are a great idea for babies, as they can be easily removed once baby is in the carrier if needed!

Baby Carriers:

At Kangatraining we use purpose-designed baby carriers by Manduca. They provide optimum support for mummy and baby. If you are interested, you will be able to purchase one of these from me at your weekly Kanga class or hire one for a small fee each week (bookings essential). Several other soft structured carriers and wraps are also suitable for Kangatraining, eg: Ergo, Kinderpack, Tula, Woven Wraps, Mei Tai etc. Please discuss with me before class.

First lesson - free carrier hire

Consecutive lessons - $5 per class
